On the 2004 Trip:
In the summer of 2004 we spent two weeks in Managua with the churches of Nicaragua. We visited 6 different churches and enjoyed the blessing of being able to baptize two into Christ and seeing a couple restored to the faith. Many more have started a good relationship with the Lord since this time and for this I rejoice and praise God for the increase.

Below a woman by the name of Dania obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ after a meeting with her in a house study...

She confessed Christ as the Son of God and Lord of her life..

She was buried with Christ and raised to walk in the newness of life...

Dania has a young boy that needs to be raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Pray for her and her young family.

Quick Tour Photos 2004

While flying over Nicaragua, I was able to get a glimpse of the field of labor for the next two weeks. What a beautiful country this is, there are people that need to hear the gospel scattered throughout its many territories.

Many forms of transportation are used in Nicaragua. This man has a business, picking up trash, and here he is seen with two young boys at work with these cattle yoked to the front of his wagon.

It is always beautiful to ride through the mountains in Nicaragua. Here a man is seen riding on horseback as we pass by on the way to a meeting with the church at La Comarca Los Fierros.

This is a typical meeting place of the congregations in Nicaragua. These are made of stone with a simple sheet metal roof. This building has no doors and has a dirt floor inside. When we arrived the people barely had a place to sit. We were able to provide 25 plastic chairs for the members there.

On several occasions we would teach from house to house. This is a typical house of the Nicaraguan people. Most homes consist of two rooms (one to sleep in and one as a sitting room). Most of the people do all cleaning [clothes and dishes etc] and cooking [over a wood fire] outside of their home. This truth was humbling to us and we were thankful for the many blessings we enjoy from God.

We enjoyed the privilege of baptizing two people into Christ. This is the common cement mold for a baptistery in Nicaragua.

Domingo serves as the translator for those who travel to Nicaragua from the United States. He is here seen translating a lesson about discipleship that I presented. Several other young men are trying to learn the English language for the purpose of being able to translate or communicate with those who visit them.

Jason was one of my fellow workers on this journey and he is seen here presenting a message. Jason has made several trips to other countries for evangelism. He is a useful brother to have with you on this type of trip.

The young children have classes much like those that we host in our meeting places in the United States. Here they are studying material about the Apostle Paul (Pablo). These are precious souls that need to be brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Harvin is a good worker for the Lord and he is here pictured baptizing a young lady named Dania for the remission of sins. This is a perfect image for demonstrating what it means to be buried with Christ in baptism.

Over 200 Bibles were given to those in the community and the various congregations in Nicaragua. Jason is here explaining how the Bibles were to be distributed.

Many of the saints are in need of help for health problems and injuries they have suffered. This young lady was helped with some aid for her husband who had been cut by a piece of sheet metal. Instead of losing his hand, he only suffered the loss of some movement. She was very thankful and began to cry when we were able to help them in their distress.

Most congregations have these hardwood pews and a few large fans for air circulation. This congregation at Campo Bruce is in a high business area and they have made many contacts due to their location. While rarely found, sound equipment is helpful for sounding forth the gospel messages that are preached. Campo Bruce was fortunate to have been blessed with these things.

While in Nicaragua, we had the opportunity to visit some tourist attractions like this volcano in Masaya. You can see how steam still rolls out of this large canyon. This is a true demonstration of the power and might of our God.

Another interesting visit we made was to the Laguna in Masaya. This is a small body of water that has filled an old volcano. Off in the distance you can see the Lake of Nicaragua. This is a very beautiful place and it surely demonstrated that God was the Creator of the world.
